What is Bing?

Bing is supposed to be the main Google competitor. The search engine created by Microsoft and powered by Yahoo - it's a challenge!

“Yahoo would be allowed to sell search ads on Bing.com as well as its own site, giving it more search inventory to sell and making it a bigger player in the search sales front. It would also immediately be able to save millions by not having to maintain its own search infrastructure. The latest terms of the deal underscore Microsoft’s devotion to developing and owning technology vs. selling media.”

MicroHOO or YaSOFT?

Microsoft at last convinced Yahoo to share control of the Internet's second most popular search engine and join it in a dishearten fighting — taking on the overwhelming dominance of Google in the online advertising market.

A 10-year deal announced Wednesday gives Microsoft its best shot yet to show its new search technology, Bing, is as good as or better than Google's. Microsoft also hopes to use Yahoo to divert sales from Google, which generates more than $20 billion a year from ads.

Megan Fox, Johnny Depp And More On Comic-Con 2009

As fans expected, the studios delivered tons of fresh looks at the coolest gadgets, characters and footage from the most talked-about upcoming flicks.

The festivities got under way with Seth Rogen's reveal of the souped-up, machine gun-enhanced '66 Chrysler Imperial that he'll be handling in his upcoming adaptation of "The Green Hornet."

Fans also got a chance to view footage from the newly named "Tron Legacy," featuring a lightcycle race, an appearance by star Jeff Bridges and generally drool-inducing visual effects.

The king of 2007's Con, "Iron Man," delivered some stellar footage from the sequel, including shots of War Machine, complete with armor and a massive array of weapons. Don Cheadle told us that War Machine's presence in the film will be "significant."

Tim Burton and surprise guest Johnny Depp showed off a teaser trailer for "Alice in Wonderland" and discussed all the wacky characters that populate the film.

After a decade of work on his sci-fi revolution "Avatar," director James Cameron talked about the fresh footage he would unveil at the Con and how the film would indeed live up to the hype.

The sneak peeks went on and on, including a preview from producer Peter Jackson's dark, gun-toting, aliens-trapped-on-Earth saga "District 9"; a new poster for "Jonah Hex," revealing the scar-faced, gun toting Josh Brolin alongside co-star Megan Fox; and much, much more.

The Con also delivered a steady stream of casting updates. We learned that in "Green Hornet," Cameron Diaz would play Casey, a secretary to Britt Reid, and Nicolas Cage will become the gangster Chudnofsky.

In what could make for a strange sight, director Robert Rodriguez talked to us about the possibility of casting Robert De Niro and Lindsay Lohan in his film "Machete."

What about this talk of Superman without Superman
? That is, Brandon Routh possibly being replaced by another actor for the role of the Man of Steel? "That's a tough question to ask, but I trust that everything goes as planned, and I'd love to return to the character," Routh told us. "I love the character and loved working with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, and I'd be happy to come back."

David Tennant
of "Doctor Who" fame denied that he's being considered to play the lead in Guillermo del Toro's "The Hobbit." And the animated adventure "Astro Boy" got two new voice actors — Samuel L. Jackson and Charlize Theron — though we don't yet know which characters they'll be playing.

The Stars Speak

"New Moon" stars discuss such things as Bella and Jacob's chemistry, Kristen Stewart's manic-depressive journey in the film and all the screen time Robert Pattinson will receive.

Megan Fox
, of the upcoming films "Jennifer's Body" and "Jonah Hex," proved her geek cred and talked about who is truly the hottest actress at the Con.

Scarlett Johansson
wouldn't tell if her "Iron Man" character, Black Widow, is meant to be a hero or a villain. Similarly, Cameron Diaz did her best to keep her lips sealed about her role in "Green Hornet." And Denzel Washington mused about the possibility of on one day playing Barack Obama.

In the end, the Con served its primary purpose: getting us pumped to see all this great pop-culture entertainment. But when?

While Gary Oldman told us that he expects shooting to begin on another "Batman" film next year, writer David Goyer told us that we shouldn't expect filming to begin so soon.

"Superman Returns"
vet James Marsden told us "there's always hope" for a new Man of Steel film. Director Matthew Vaughn expects "Kick-Ass" to hit theaters in the first quarter of 2010.

And one of the producers of ABC's "Lost," which is entering its final season, said, "We've worked so hard to basically do something that we didn't feel had ever been done before, which was take a highly mythologized show and arguing for an end date three years out."

Jackson's Doctor behaviour - sinister signs! Does he know something?

Law enforcement sources tells one of the theories they're exploring in Michael Jackson's death is that Dr. Conrad Murray administered Propofol to the singer and then left the room, eventually to return to a dead body.

When paramedics arrived Michael Jackson was found with an IV in his arm, an IV stand nearby along with an empty IV bag and oxygen tank.
Paramedics who arrived on scene admit that Dr. Murray's conduct was "strange" - he was "hard to deal with" and was "getting in the way" of emergency responders.
Then, paramedics wanted to pronounce Jackson dead at the house but Dr. Murray insisted they transport the singer to the hospital.

After doctors at UCLA Medical Center gave up on resuscitation efforts because Jackson was clearly dead -- Dr. Murray continued CPR, which some of the UCLA docs found curious.

What do you like more: Twitter or Facebook?

If you are not a public person, it's exciting to discover the web, meeting interesting people and share your opinion with all the world. You think: "The more people add me as a friend the more interesting person I am!" so you are glad you have 1000 unknown people as a friends on Facebook or 3000 followers on Twitter.
But if you are some kind of celebrity there must be a little annoying to admit that 1000 people everyday add you as a friend and you even do not know who they are and whether they are really interested in you...
That's why Bill Gates is going to cancel his Facebook account.
Another well-known person, Martha Stewart, is also starting to be bored with Facebook. She discovered Twitter as more convenient way to communicate with people who like her.
“I just love it so much more than Facebook," - Martha says. - "First of all, you don’t have to spend any time on it, and, second of all, you reach a lot more people. And I don’t have to ‘befriend’ and do all that other dippy stuff that they do on Facebook.”
Everyone has his own choice, I'm not going to join the debate "What is better: Twitter or Facebook?", I'm just enjoying both - I'm not a public person and I like to make friends all over the world.

Google Latitude application for the iPhone

Google announced a web app version of Latitude for the iPhone, enabling users to both share their location with friends and view a live map showing their friends' location.

The biggest limitation facing the new app, however, is Apple's prohibition against installing third party background apps. This prevents Google from constantly updating the user's location automatically unless the Latitude app is running in the foreground.

On other mobile platforms, including Google's Android, Blackberry, Symbian and Window Mobile, Google runs a Latitude service in the background. Google does not currently offer a native Palm Pre/WebOS version, and Pre users report that the web version targeted toward the iPhone does not currently work correctly on that device.

There already have been demonstration mashup web apps that log into MobileMe and regularly request the given user's location. Were Apple to enable it, this facility could be used to allow users to regularly report their iPhone's location to services such as Latitude or Loopt. However, liberally sharing GPS location tracking is a sensitive area already limited by legislation, so any such system would require full disclosure and adequate security to prevent spyware or other legal liabilities from popping up.

How the secondary Harry Potter actor became famous

20year-old Jamie Waylett, who plays school bully Vincent Crabbe in Harry Potter saga, pleaded guilty to producing the drug at a court hearing last week.

Police found 10 marijuana plants growing in a bedroom at Waylett's mother's London house.

Producing cannabis carries a maximum 14-year sentence. Judge Timothy Workman said Tuesday that he accepted the cultivation was on a small scale and for Waylett's own use.

Today in Google trends: Andrea McNulty

Who is this woman whole world is speaking about?
Let me remind...

According to online court records, a defamation lawsuit was filed in Washoe County, Nev., on Friday. Andrea McNulty was a plaintiff.

McNulty claims Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback)asked her to come to his hotel room in July, 2008 - and then forced her to have sex with him.
An employee at Harrah's Hotel in Reno, McNulty is suing for sexual assault and battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress.

Ben denied he sexually assaulted anyone, and said he was confident this would be proven.

Who is the victim? We will know the truth next week...

Yesterday I watched the movie and I'm totally disappointed!
There were couple of interesting moments, but all the movie was annoying, too long and gloomy. Why does Joan Rowling always kill positive characters?
And Jeanie Weasley is ugly!!!

Did Michael Jackson use false names?

State and federal laws designed to curb prescription drug abuse make it illegal for doctors to prescribe drugs in the name of anyone but the intended user, and physicians found using pseudonyms have lost their medical licenses and faced criminal charges.

The prohibition on fake names may become a key issue in the investigation into Michael Jackson's death.

Sources close to the investigation told The Times that the performer had been prescribed drugs in the name "Omar Arnold" shortly before his death June 25.

The probe has focused on Jackson's use of drugs, and investigators are looking closely at the conduct of at least five doctors who wrote prescriptions for him.

Jackson had long used aliases in health matters, according to associates.

One person who worked closely with Jackson in the 1980s and '90s said Jackson's physicians filed his medical records under pseudonyms, including Omar Arnold, Joseph Scruz and Bill Bray, and used those names to schedule appointments and order tests.

Another longtime associate said Jackson's staff regularly picked up prescriptions for the performer under different names.

The most fashionable Pop Star

Lady Gaga has said that Donatella Versace is her muse and that she lives in a permanent “state of Gaga,” where fame and confidence is something that can be willed. Though her look is from the future, her music is laced with '80s synth and pop references. So if the tunes aren’t doing it for you, perhaps you’ll be wowed by the inventive outfits – sometimes crafted out of glass.

Step by step guide how to use WMA-convert

WMA-convert is powerful convertion software for any type of purchased or copied video (WMV, M4V, FLV, MKV, AVI) and audio files (WMA, M4P, AAC, RAX, AA), both protected and non-protected, to commonly used formats for use on dozens of playing devices e.g. iPod, iPhone, Zune, any portable MP3 and MP4 players, CD and DVD players, mobile phones and many others.

1. Audio Conversion

WMA-convert converts practically any kind of audio files, both protected and non-protected, for use on various devices such as PC, iPods, mp3 players, mobile phones, DVD players, etc.

WMA-convert supports MP3, WAV and M4A (MPEG4 AAC) as output formats for audio conversion. MP3 audio format is nearly universally supported by every portable HDD, mp3 player (Apple, Sony, iriver, SanDisk, Creative, Cowon, Samsung, Philips etc.) and mobile phone. M4A is an iPod and iPhone compatible audio format. WAV files are the best decision for burning to audio CD to avoid quality loss.

To convert your files, click "Select Files" button in the program window and choose desired files for conversion. Another way to convert your files is to drag-n-drop single files or entire folders from Windows Explorer to WMA-convert window. After conversion finishes, your converted files will be stored in the output folder set in WMA-convert settings.

You can select the desired output format in WMA-convert settings from the “Encoder for audio files” drop-down list. It is also possible to choose the compression quality for MP3 and AAC files in WMA-convert settings.

2. Video Conversion

WMA-convert supports MP4 and AVI as output formats for video conversion. You can select a desired output format and video size in WMA-convert settings by choosing a suitable encoder for video files. MP4 is an iPod and iPhone compatible video format. MP4 files can be also played on other HDD and MP4 video players. AVI files are used on home DVD players most frequently.

WMA-convert can also extract audio from your favourite movies and video clips. If you are going to convert video to audio, just select AAC – MPEG4 Audio or MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio encoder for video files in WMA-convert settings.

3. CD Ripper and YouTuber Ripper

WMA-convert installation includes an easy to use audio CD Ripper.

You can run WMA-convert CD Ripper from your desktop by clicking on “ WMA-convert CDRipper” shortcut, from WMA-convert working folder (by default it is C:\Converted folder) or from Start Menu.

YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. WMA-convert allows to convert and save YouTube videos to your PC in a format, that is compatible with your video playing device (iPod, Zune, mobile phone etc.)

WMA-convert YouTube Ripper is installed as a plug-in for Internet Explorer. To convert and save the desired video clip, click “Rip YouTube File” button on Internet Explorer main toolbar or in Tools menu. First, the video will be downloaded to the temporary folder. The download process will be visible in Internet the Explorer window. After that WMA-convert will start to automatically convert the video. The new Vaio W from Sony is coming!!!

It is expected to be released in August, and the cost will be $500.

The Vaio W will be a full-on, 1.6GHz Atom powered, ten-inch screened netbook. The other specs also fail to deviate from the cheap formula: 160GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, an Ethernet jack, Bluetooth and a couple of USB ports. The SD reader will work with MemorySticks, too, of course, and Sony has made one break with tradition: The screen is a high-res 1,366 x 768 instead of the more usual 1,024 x 600, meaning that text will be slightly harder to read.
